I know I have seen other sites such as this but here is one you can bookmark and use for “up to date” ammo pricing.

Yes, I suck with the Beretta 92 and 96 series, could not hit the side of a barn. With the Sig 225 and Glock 22/23/19/17/26 I rock!
The Beretta’s have a larger circumference, while the 225 is s single stack but still fairly wide Sig and the Glocks just fit.
My wife and 3 children all have smaller hands and the Gen 1, 2 and 3 Glocks are too big. The Gen 4 barely fit so the ladies all have the Walther PQ380. The boy is a rifleman.

Butches Gun Oil – A quick heads up
Guys, as I was cleaning my weapons with Frog Lube (see my question about it on the main forum page), I noticed something.
I used to use Butches Gun Oil, it is red, on all my firearms.
On my weapons there was this red “plastic” covering. Like I would expect a transparent film on something you don’t want scratched.
Turns out it was the dried Butches Gun Oil. It was no longer a lube but a hindrance, it could block / jam / gum up those various systems.

    MFZuber3PD,
I was raised the same way. How I approached it with my wife was I needed to protect her and our children, and in order to do that I needed to see around.
For the first 5 years of marriage it did not help, however, after each incident on the news, I quietly and respectfully said something to the effect, “I wonder why their husbands did not love them enough to protect them”. No lectures, just let it drop. Now 19+ years into the marriage, she is looking for the best seating for the family (away from the front windows and cash register) and where I can see as well as taking in consideration that I am left handed. In other-words it took time but now she has an awareness.

I have a question about Froglube.
I cleaned the weapons thoughrly as described.
After I applied it on my CCW pistol and bolt weapon, I fired them.
It has been enough rounds through each I normally would clean them, the question is with Froglube, how?
Do I run the solvent the same as I would have with Hoppes #9 and then the CLP as I would have with Butches Gun Oil?
Do I just use the CLP?
The instructions seem to say to use the Solvent then the CLP, however does that not defeat the purpose of the CLP “penetrating” the metal?

Also, I used the CLP inside my barrels, my groups doubled in size. Could have been me, it was a clear day, no wind, cool (high 70’s), could not have been any better for shooting. I only checked at 100 and 200 yards with the rifle. The pistol I did not really notice until 25, 35 and 45 yards (these shots also moved to the left, maybe grip?)

I had posted where I found the best prices of quality 308 during the month of July 2014, not sure why it disappeared.
I have updated the original document with AIM and Wideners: http://www.theweeklygeek.com/308Ammo2014.pdf
You can save some money if any of these rounds are what you use. Spend the saved money on Talking Lead gear.

I heard the show report (show 75 part 1), I also have been taught in a fighting knife class that the D2 steel is great and weather / water resistant and keeps an edge.
I bought one 1 year ago this month and I have not done the test that Paul did, it has never been sharpened but has not been used a lot.
The only one I know of is made by Benchmade and at Cabela’s.

Guys, just so you know, I wrote this about CTD, however if you see my post on the main page about where to get quality 308 ammo cheap, they (CTD) are on the list.

Love the Moisin Nagant, with my first (unfortunately sold it) I could it clay pigeons and big pieces of them open sights at 200 yards.

Still not sure on the sights. My 5.56 I have Magpul BUS and a Trijicon tripower. I have both in line (pop up the sights and they are in line with the Trijicon) and both set at 100 yards, with my preferred round.
I am thinking of making some changes on my 308. Right now I have the flip up sights set up for 100 yards (sighted in before the scope was installed) and the scope sighted in at 200 yards with my preferred round.
Problem is looking through the irons with the scope still attached is very difficult, so should is “align” them with the scope at 200 or ditch them and get one of the 45 degree sets and sight them at 100 and then “tilt” the rifle like I have seen in 3 gun or leave them alone.

I have a “backup” iron site question.
recently the new iron sights at an angle are getting popular, for years, I have used them in line with my optic with the theory that if the scope is down I still “view” the same way, down side if the damaged optic blocks the view.
What is your view on in-line compared to angled backup sights?

Should I use my premium ammo on a long gun to get on paper at 25 then at 100 then sight in at 200 or should I use inexpensive ammo for the 25 and 100 yard shots?
Today cost me 57 round of premium 308 because at 100 yards, round 8 I noticed the scope mount was loose. Took off, locktight / red, installed back then 12 more rounds at 100. Went to 200 yards, found 1st round the trigger guard bit me. 1 of 3 screws holding rifle to stock was 4 or 5 turns loose. Tightened up, checked at 100 and was now 6” low, stat over…

You can shoot at 10 am or 1 pm. As usual, I plan on shooting the 1pm time frame.
